Seeds, nuts, berries, fruit, nectar.
DISTRIBUTION:
Southern and central Africa.
NOTES:
This bird is extremely wary and difficult to approach. It climbs among foliage with slow deliberate movements using their bills to hook branches on which they are about to step. Their flight is swift and direct with rapid regular wing-beats. They fly high and call almost continuously, they lose height in a steady, descending glide or in a rapid downward spiral.
