CARIBBEAN FLAMINGO

FOOD: Algae, shrimps, aquatic life
DISTRIBUTION: North America, Europe and Australia
NOTES:

This bird is a very striking pink in color. The pigment of their feathers is found in the plants and animals that they eat. They live in vast colonies of thousands of birds and breed, feed and travel in huge flocks. This bird has a small head with a sickle shaped bill that it uses to extract food from the water by a filtering mechanism.
