CACATUIDAE (Cockatoos)
GOFFIN
(Cacatua Goffini) - 32 cm
FOOD:
Corn on the cob, spinach, carrot, sunflower kernals, grated cuttlefish.
DISTRIBUTION:
Tanimbar Island, Indonesia
NOTES:
This is one of the most intelligent and interesting of all the cockatoos. In 1983 it was the most heavily traded in the Moluccan Islands. In the Tanimbar Islands the species is wide spread in both the primary and secondary forests, however the species cannot continue to withstand the present excessive levels of exploitation for the live bird trade.
