Seeds, leaves, tender shoots (ex. bamboo), insects.
DISTRIBUTION:
Central China, introduced in Britain.
NOTES:
This is an extremely popular species as an aviary bird and have long been kept by the Chinese who prize them for their beauty. As an aviary bird they appear to be content, they are hardy birds that do well in aviaries of a small size. A beautiful little pheasant.
