FOOD:
Sunflower seeds, ground nut, pine nuts, fruits, berries, roots.
DISTRIBUTION:
Interior of Australia, except the north-eastern and south-western portions, in 2 subspecies.
NOTES:
These beautiful cockatoos are relatively scarce in aviculture. Birds bred in captivity become extremely tame but are far from excellent talkers. These birds are usually seen in pairs or small flocks, they are very wary when disturbed but seldom fly far before settling again. Also known as the Major Mitchell.
