DISTRIBUTION:
East of the Andes, from southern Mexico, south as far as Bolivia and eastern Brazil.
NOTES:
A large Amazon with intense green body color and a yellow patch on the head. Visual distinction of the two sexes is difficult. They exist in many different races varying in color. The central American type is the most colorful. They are very intelligent, lively, have raucous calls and are rather noisy. They are long lived and they become easily very tame.
