FOOD:
Millets, grass and weed seeds.
DISTRIBUTION:
Southern Tenasserim (Burma), south and east to Luzon (Philippines), Lesser Sunda Islands, southern New Guinea and Australia.
NOTES:
A small bird of urban as well as rural areas. These doves can be kept in an aviary together with small finches. They are easily tamed and are nearly always to be found on the ground. Much of their time is spent sitting still AZn their nest, often flying only when they are disturbed. It is important to avoid sudden movements in their vicinity, as they are inclined to panic and fly off, sometimes injuring themselves if they collide with the mesh.
