Seeds, berries, fruits, nuts and blossoms.
DISTRIBUTION:
N.Bolivia, Guyanas, E.Venezuela, S.Brazil, S.E.Peru.
NOTES:
It is the smallest of all the Macaws and when feeding it can be approached. It is so silent and its plumage blends so well with the foliage that an intruder may be unaware of its presence until it dart s out from a tree with a loud screeching. Its flight is swift and direct with rapid, jerky wing-beats and in the air it is extremely noisy and the call notes always attract attention.
