FOOD:
Vegetarian but they will eat insects such as grasshoppers and small mammals.
DISTRIBUTION:
S. America from north - eastern Brazil to Central Argentina.
NOTES:
Its wings are longer then the Ostrich’s but useless. They run very fast with their neck almost horizontal. They have excellent eyesight and are constantly on the lookout for danger, although once fully grown they have few enemies except man. The females are prolific egg layers up to 80 eggs in a single nest. Outside of the breeding season they gather in flocks and groups of 20-25 and can be found feeding with deer and domestic cattle.
