It is a timid bird generally seen in pairs or small flocks as it flies across open country from one patch of forest to another. When in the crowns of forest trees it is not easily spotted because their plumage blends so well with the foliage. In flight it is noisy and will often be heard before it is seen, but while feeding it only occasionally gives a soft chatter.
