Western Africa.
NOTES:
This is a friendly, and somewhat timid bird. Young birds can learn to talk, although it can be a slow process. They have extremely strong beaks and are capable of destroying wooden components in cages and aviaries. During the winter this species must be kept indoors at room temperature. In a large aviary successful breeding is possible.
