Zebra finch is one of the most common caged birds, they are easy to care for and will breed well in groups. It stays close to the ground in grasses and bushes and builds its nest in shrubs or low trees. It is a hardy bird and is able to live outside in an aviary in both summer and winter providing there is adequate shelter. Tests have shown that this bird can go without liquids for weeks and even months.
